Sustainable development (SD) explained in terms of three spheres such as environment, the economy, and society. The overall goal of SD lies on the long-term stability of the economy and environment. In order to pursue the goal of sustainable development, planning and designing ecological, the condition of the area in the city, society and environment are required.

Indonesia is very fortunate in terms of natural endowments such as a wealth of energy resources, rich soils and forest area in more than half of the country. On the other hand, Indonesia has a big problem in environmental destruction includes land, forest, coastal and marine ecosystems. Forest and land destruction in generally caused by the forest fire, conversion of forest function and illegal logging. This activity had big significant effect in on biological diversity in forest ecosystems. Therefore standing commitment to environmental management is important to pursue the sustainable development goal.

Recently, the term of SD was expanded in several aspects such as development human resources, human culture (humanities), even science technologies. The role of human resources has an important role especially in reducing poverty, improving the human welfare and raising living standards. The quality of human resources is an extremely important point for advancing the nation through its participation in various development sectors.

If we learn deeply about sustainable development, the industrialized countries also have a big responsibility in particular for their present technological and financial resources. The most important things are that sustainable production and consumption involve not only technical progress but also cultural patterns of human culture and values. A human culture such as language, law, history, and philosophy are the driver of the economic, social and environmental dimensions in order to pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On the other hand, there are several methods for achieving the environmental compatibility in lifestyles and economies. Technical and scientific innovations provide excellent prospects for environmental management and environmental protection. Therefore sciences also play an important role in the pursuit of sustainable development goals.

Coming from this background, Indonesian Student Association in Osaka-Nara (PPI-ON) would like to organize a scientific conference in particular for the development of science technologies, human cultural (humanities) and social sciences in order to pursue the sustainable development goal of Indonesia.
